about
Jay & Elizabeth Roberts
...in atonement only through His blood shed on the Cross...
Doctrinal Statement:
We believe: that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God, that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in atonement only through His blood shed on the Cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal and soon-coming return in power and glory; in the eternal damnation in a literal lake of fire for the unbeliever; and everlasting life with God for the believer; that a true believer will be a follower of Jesus; and that salvation is a free gift by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his completed work on the Cross.
Salt and Light Ministries is a ministry of
• Evangelism
• Exhortation
• Encouragement
God has called us to magnify the Lord and bring glory to His name using music as a door opener as well as a vehicle through which we share the message of reconciliation, to draw the hearts of man to the Creator, to encourage the discouraged and to revive the faint-hearted.
We are dedicated to lifting up our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through the intertwining of singing and preaching and the sharing of our testimonies. We come equipped with the tools God has given us (The Word of God, songs, testimonies, etc.) and follow the leading of His Spirit in each service. Before every service we ask God for a fresh filling of His Holy Spirit and a fresh anointing along with a sensitivity to His leading, as He knows what each congregation needs, therefore each service is unique.
Getting Started
Jay & Elizabeth obeyed God's call to step out full-time by faith as "Musicianaries" January 1998 with only God's promise to provide for them. Since then God has opened doors for them to crisscross the country multiple times to minister in churches, retreats, campgrounds, nursing homes, retirement homes, hospitals, to shut-ins, and prisons in Virginia and in past years they have hosted bible studies periodically in their home. Their ministry calls for self-examination to see if one is truly in the faith; and encourages believers into a closer walk with the Lord. They eagerly accept invitations to ministry anywhere God opens the door and provides the means to go which has opened a door for Jay to minister in the Oradea Romania jail and many other venues outside of the Oradea area traveling with Foundation for Hope (www.foundationforhoperomania.org)
As of 2017, Salt & Light Ministries was recognized as a "Mobile Church" (its own non-profit/religious entity) taking services to the incarcerated church with Hope Aglow Ministries (www.hopeaglow.com) as well as pastoring scattered sheep in their local community.
